Indications
This capsule effectively treats and prevents deficiencies in iron, folic acid, zinc, vitamin B complex, and vitamin C, particularly crucial during pregnancy and lactation.
Composition
Each capsule contains essential nutrients such as:
- Elemental Iron (as Carbonyl iron) INN 50 mg
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate BP 61.80 mg (equivalent to Zinc 22.50 mg)
- Folic Acid BP 0.5mg

Pharmacology
- Carbonyl Iron: Offers higher bioavailability, low toxicity, and better GI tolerance.
- Folic Acid: Essential for neural tube development and cell division.
- Vitamin B Complex: Supports growth and development, especially in unborn babies.
- Vitamin C: Aids in collagen structure formation in fetal membranes.
- Zinc: Crucial for fetal growth, central nervous system development, and maternal and infant health.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Take one capsule daily before food or as directed by a physician. Children & Adolescents: Use upon consultation with a doctor.
Interaction
Carbonyl Iron may reduce absorption of certain antibiotics and medications like levodopa and levothyroxine. Folic Acid may interact with antiepileptics, potentially reducing plasma concentrations of certain drugs.
Contraindications
Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredients. Iron therapy is not recommended in haemolytic anaemia cases.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include allergic sensitization with Folic acid and constipation with oral iron preparations, especially in older patients.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Avoid using any drug during the first trimester of pregnancy if possible. Iron administration requires evidence of deficiency during this period. Prophylactic use during the remainder of pregnancy is justified when diet inadequacies necessitate supplementary zinc and folic acid.
Precautions & Warnings
Exercise caution in patients prone to iron overload, such as those with hemochromatosis or hemolytic anemia. Iron chelates with tetracycline, potentially impairing absorption.
Overdose Effects
Symptoms may include decreased energy, nausea, abdominal pain, tarry stool, weak and rapid pulse, fever, coma, and seizures.
Therapeutic Class
Iron, Vitamin & Mineral Combined preparation
Storage Conditions
Store in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Protect from moisture.
