Indications
This sterile ophthalmic solution is designed to treat elevated intraocular pressure in patients suffering from open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who do not respond adequately to single therapy with a prostaglandin analogue or a topical beta blocker.
Always follow the advice of a registered healthcare professional when using this medication.
Pharmacology
Travoprost and Timolol work synergistically to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) through distinct mechanisms. Travoprost, a prostaglandin analogue, effectively reduces IOP by enhancing trabecular and uveoscleral outflow. In contrast, Timolol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker, lacks significant intrinsic sympathomimetic, direct myocardial depressant, or local anesthetic (membrane-stabilizing) properties. It decreases IOP by reducing the production of aqueous humor in the ciliary epithelium.
Dosage & Administration
Administer one drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) once daily, ideally at the same time each day, preferably in the evening.
Consult your registered healthcare provider for personalized advice on medication use.
