Description
Femorose, derived from the seeds of the Evening Primrose plant native to North America, has been utilized for medicinal purposes in Europe since the 16th century. Clinical research highlights its effectiveness in addressing issues related to essential fatty acid (EFA) deficiency, including PMS, atopic eczema, inflammation, and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA, 7-10%), Femorose offers significant health benefits.
Pharmacology
Femorose enhances the EFA composition in plasma and red blood cells, contributing to improved health in both non-diabetic individuals and those with Type 1 diabetes. It increases the fat and EFA content of breast milk and influences the fatty acid profiles in men with low dihoma-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA) levels. GLA from Evening Primrose Oil acts on the prostanoids pathway, supporting normal cellular structures and metabolic processes.
