Indications
Grincal D is recommended for the following conditions:
- Osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, and hypoparathyroidism management
- Pregnancy and lactation, where the demand for calcium and Vitamin D3 is higher
- Kidney disease and pancreatitis management
- Support during antiseizure medication therapy
- Prevention and treatment of Calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiencies
Use only as prescribed by a registered healthcare provider.
Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains:
- Calcium Carbonate (Algae Source) BP – 1250 mg (providing 500 mg of elemental Calcium)
- Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol USP) – 200 IU
Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
The usual adult dosage is:
- 1 tablet in the morning
- 1 tablet at night

Drug Interactions
- Calcium salts can reduce the absorption of bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, fluorides, iron, levothyroxine, tetracycline, and zinc.
- Corticosteroids may reduce calcium absorption.
- The combination of Calcium and Vitamin D3 with thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcemia.
Food and Drug Interactions
No clinically significant food-drug interactions have been reported.
Contraindications
Grincal D is not recommended for individuals with the following conditions:
- Hypocalcemia (low calcium levels)
- Hypercalciuria (high calcium levels in urine)
- Metastatic calcification
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
Side Effects
Common side effects may include:
- Irregular heartbeat, nausea, dry mouth, weakness, headache, metallic taste, muscle or bone pain, and drowsiness.
Rare side effects can include high blood calcium levels, constipation, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Grincal D should be used during pregnancy and lactation only after considering the potential risks and benefits.
Precautions & Warnings
Use with caution in individuals with:
- Renal impairment (kidney disease)
- Sarcoidosis
- Hypercalcemia and Hypercalciuria
Use in Special Populations
Grincal D is not recommended for children under 12 years.
Overdose Effects
Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, anorexia, abdominal cramps, headache, constipation, and more. In case of overdose, discontinue use and ensure proper rehydration.
