Description

Indications

Clarizol Ear Drop is specifically formulated for treating fungal infections of the ear.

Description

Clarizol serves as a broad-spectrum antifungal agent effective against dermal infections caused by a variety of pathogenic dermatophytes, yeasts, and Malassezia furfur. Its primary action targets actively dividing and growing organisms. By inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, Clarizol alters cellular permeability, thus impeding fungal growth. Additionally, it possesses antibacterial properties.

Pharmacology

Clotrimazole, the active ingredient in Clarizol, effectively eliminates fungi and yeasts by disrupting their cell membranes. It achieves this by blocking the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, which leads to increased membrane permeability and the leakage of essential cellular components.

Dosage & Administration

For optimal results, instill 2-3 drops of Clotrimazole Ear Drops into the affected ear two to three times daily. It is essential to continue treatment for at least two weeks after all signs of infection have resolved to prevent recurrence.
Always follow your doctor’s advice regarding medication use.

Interaction

Caution is advised when using this medication alongside Sofradex drops, as reports indicate a possible heat reaction.

Contraindications

This product should not be used by individuals with hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Side Effects

Clarizol is generally well tolerated following local application. However, some side effects may occur infrequently, including erythema, stinging, edema, pruritus, and general irritation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Clotrimazole may be used during pregnancy only after consulting with a healthcare provider. Due to minimal systemic absorption following topical application, there is typically no risk to the infant during breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

If local intolerance occurs, discontinue use and seek appropriate medical advice. Clarizol Ear Drop is not intended for use in the eyes.

Overdose Effects

In the event of accidental oral ingestion, implement supportive measures.
