Indications
This eye drop solution is specifically designed for treating lens opacification.
Composition
Each milliliter of this sterile eye drop contains:
- Adenosine BP: 2 mg
- Cytochrome C Ph. Gr.: 0.5 mg
- Sodium Succinate Ph. Gr.: 0.6 mg
- Nicotinamide BP: 10 mg
Preservative: Thiomersal 0.005%
Pharmacology
Cytochrome C plays a crucial role in oxidative phosphorylation, aiding in the conversion of ADP to ATP. Anhydrous Sodium Succinate acts as an intermediate to enhance ATP production. Adenosine is vital for generating the energy necessary for essential functions within the lens, including the biosynthesis of glutathione, ion and amino acid transport, and the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and nucleic acids. Nicotinamide is involved in the formation of ATP and NADPH, which help protect cells from oxidative stress and free radicals by maintaining reduced glutathione levels.
