Indications
This syrup is designed to treat and prevent deficiencies of Iron, Vitamin B Complex, and Zinc, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Please use this medication as prescribed by a registered healthcare provider.
Composition
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
- Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex, providing 50 mg of elemental Iron
- Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1) – 5 mg
- Riboflavin-5-Phosphate Sodium (Vitamin B2) – equivalent to 2 mg of Riboflavin
- Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) – 2 mg
- Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) – 20 mg
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate – equivalent to 10 mg of elemental Zinc
Pharmacology
This formulation combines Iron, Vitamin B Complex, and Zinc. The Iron is present as Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex, which promotes gradual absorption of Iron by interacting with the mucosal cells. Unlike conventional Iron forms, this complex is more stable due to its non-ionic nature.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 5 ml to 10 ml (1-2 teaspoonfuls) three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Children: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Infants: 0.33 ml per kg of body weight daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
Please follow the instructions of a registered healthcare provider.
Interaction
Because the Iron is bound in a complex form, it is less likely to interact with food components (such as phytates, oxalates, and tannins) or with other medications (such as tetracyclines and antacids).
