Indications
This syrup is formulated for the effective treatment and prevention of deficiencies in Iron, Vitamin B complex, and Zinc, particularly during pregnancy and lactation.
Composition
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
- Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex (equivalent to 50 mg elemental Iron)
- Thiamine Hydrochloride 5 mg
- Riboflavin-5-Phosphate Sodium (equivalent to 2 mg Riboflavin)
- Pyridoxine Hydrochloride 2 mg
- Nicotinamide 20 mg
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate (equivalent to 10 mg elemental Zinc)
Pharmacology
This syrup combines Iron, Vitamin B complex, and Zinc. It utilizes Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex, which ensures controlled absorption of iron upon contact with mucosal surfaces. This form of iron is more stable and less reactive compared to conventional iron forms.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 5 ml to 10 ml (1-2 teaspoonfuls) three times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Children: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) three times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Infants: 0.33 ml per kg of body weight daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.

Interactions
Due to its complex binding, this iron formulation is less likely to interact with dietary components (like phytates, oxalates, tannins) or concurrent medications (such as tetracyclines and antacids).
Contraindications
This product should not be used by individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
Generally well tolerated, but possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Safe and recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions & Warnings
Use with caution in conditions with a risk of iron overload, such as hemochromatosis, thalassemia, hemosiderosis, or hemolytic anemia.
Use in Special Populations
Recommended for children as directed.
Overdose Effects
In case of overdose, symptoms may include epigastric pain, diarrhea, vomiting, metabolic acidosis, and convulsions. Seek emergency medical attention. Initial treatment should include an emetic, followed by gastric lavage and general supportive care.
