Pharmacology
- Vitamin A: Crucial for retinal function and the growth and maintenance of epithelial tissues.
- Vitamin B Complex: Important for synthesizing coenzyme A, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, tissue respiration, and reducing very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) synthesis. It also supports chylomicron triglyceride clearance from plasma.
- Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin): Essential for red blood cell formation, nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis, and cell reproduction. It requires intrinsic factor for absorption and plays a role in tissue respiration, vitamin B6 activation, and the conversion of tryptophan to niacin.
- Vitamin E: Acts as an antioxidant, protecting vital cellular components.
- Vitamin C: Vital for collagen synthesis, tissue repair, and various metabolic processes, including the synthesis of catecholamines, carnitine, and steroids. It also aids in the conversion of folic acid to folinic acid.
- Vitamin D3: A fat-soluble vitamin crucial for calcium and phosphate balance, bone mineralization, and calcium absorption. It supports bone health and has synergistic effects with calcium in promoting bone growth and preventing osteoporosis and fractures.
