Amoxicillin is stable in gastric acid and is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, reaching peak plasma concentrations within 1 to 2 hours. It is widely distributed in body tissues and fluids.

Amoxicillin is contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to penicillin.
Side Effects
Side effects are generally mild and may include diarrhea, indigestion, and occasionally a rash. Pseudomembranous colitis has been reported rarely.
