Indications
Seclo is indicated for various conditions including gastric and duodenal ulcer, NSAID-associated duodenal and gastric ulcer, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, acid-related dyspepsia, severe ulcerating reflux esophagitis, and prophylaxis of acid aspiration during general anesthesia.
Pharmacology
Omeprazole, the active ingredient, inhibits gastric acid secretion by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cell, showing onset within one hour and lasting up to 72 hours.
Dosage
Oral dosage varies depending on the condition, ranging from 10-40 mg daily for different durations, with specific regimens for pediatric use and intravenous administration in certain cases.
Administration
Oral doses should be taken with food, while IV injections or infusions should be administered as per specific instructions for reconstitution and infusion.
