Indications
Paricel Gastro-resistant Tablets are prescribed for the treatment of:
- Active Duodenal Ulcer
- Active Benign Gastric Ulcer
- Symptomatic Erosive or Ulcerative Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Long-term Management of GERD
- Symptomatic Treatment of Moderate to Severe GERD
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in Peptic Ulcer Disease (in combination with appropriate antibiotics)

Pharmacology
Rabeprazole, the active ingredient, reduces stomach acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, effectively acting as a proton pump inhibitor.
Dosage
- Duodenal and Benign Gastric Ulcers: 20 mg once daily, typically in the morning. Treatment duration varies between 4-6 weeks, depending on healing progress.
- Erosive/Ulcerative GERD: 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.
- GERD Maintenance: 20-10 mg once daily, depending on patient response.
- Severe GERD: 10 mg once daily; increase if symptoms persist after 4 weeks.
- Pediatric GERD (1-11 years): 5-10 mg once daily, based on weight.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Start with 60 mg daily, adjustable up to 120 mg.
- H. pylori Eradication: 20 mg twice daily combined with clarithromycin and amoxicillin for 7 days.

Administration

Interactions
