- Tissue growth and repair
- Supporting adrenal gland function
- Boosting immunity and maintaining healthy gums
- Acting as a powerful antioxidant, protecting against pollution and infections while reducing cellular damage
- Serving as a coenzyme essential for wound healing, drug metabolism, and processing cholesterol and folic acid
Vitamin C is vital for maintaining healthy skin, hair, and overall well-being by supporting the immune system and enhancing overall health.

Oral Tablets:
- For scurvy prevention: 1 tablet daily
- For scurvy treatment: 1-2 tablets daily, with potential dosage increase based on severity

While Ascorbic Acid is commonly administered orally, parenteral (IM, IV, or subcutaneous) administration is preferred when oral intake is not feasible or absorption issues are suspected. Note: Always inspect parenteral solutions for particulate matter and discoloration before use.
Follow the advice of a registered healthcare provider for dosage recommendations.
Interactions
Hazardous Interactions:
Ascorbic Acid may interact with medications such as aminophylline, bleomycin, erythromycin, and others. It is incompatible in solution with certain drugs, including lactobionate, nitrofurantoin, and hydrocortisone sodium succinate.
Beneficial Interactions:
Ascorbic Acid enhances the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract and increases the half-life of paracetamol.
Side Effects
Nutrivit-C is generally safe, but high doses may cause side effects, including:
- Diarrhea and abdominal discomfort
- Excessive iron absorption, which can be harmful in conditions like thalassemia or hemachromatosis
- Potential issues in individuals with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, including hemolysis
- For pregnant women, daily doses over 5 g may increase the risk of fetal abortion
Pregnancy & Lactation
Nutrivit-C is considered safe for use in pregnancy at recommended doses. However, doses above 5 g daily may cause complications such as fetal abortion. It is safe to use during lactation when taken at standard doses.
