Indications
Norvis serves as an antispasmodic medication targeting muscle spasms in various bodily systems, including the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus. It’s instrumental in alleviating pain associated with functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system. Additionally, Norvis finds application in managing spasm and pain related to urological and gynecological conditions.
Pharmacology
Norvis contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate, a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine, which strengthens calcium bonds with membrane phospholipids and proteins. By inhibiting intracellular contractile proteins in visceral cells, it effectively suppresses visceral spasm and associated pain.
Dosage & Administration
For tablets/syrup:
- Adults typically take 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls of syrup daily in divided doses.
- Children’s dosage ranges from 3 ml/kg to 6 mg/kg of body weight daily in divided doses.
For injection:
- Administer 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection three times daily via intravenous or intramuscular route.
For suppository:
- Use 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily via rectal route.

Contraindications
Avoid Norvis in conditions involving urethroprostatic disorder with a risk of urine retention. It’s contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma.
