Pharmacology
Nebivolol, the active ingredient in Nebipro, is a selective β-blocker that inhibits both β1 and β2 adrenergic receptors. It works through various mechanisms, including:
- Reducing heart rate and myocardial contractility.
- Suppressing renin activity and improving vasodilation.
- Lowering peripheral vascular resistance.
Nebivolol is metabolized through CYP2D6, with its effects lasting up to 12-19 hours depending on individual metabolism. The drug is highly protein-bound and exhibits minimal alteration by food intake.
Dosage & Administration
The usual starting dose for Nebipro is 5 mg daily, with or without food. Depending on patient response, the dose may be gradually increased to a maximum of 40 mg.

Interactions
- CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., fluoxetine, quinidine) should be used cautiously alongside Nebipro.
