Description
Bacopa monnieri, commonly known as Brahmi, is a small, creeping herb used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It grows in wet soil and is known for its cognitive benefits due to compounds like alkaloids, saponins, sterols, and bacosides A & B.
Pharmacology
Bacopa monnieri enhances nerve impulse transmission through triterpenoid saponins and bacosides, aiding in neuronal repair and synaptic activity. It also has antioxidant properties that protect against oxidative stress and DNA damage. Asparagus racemosus acts as a nervine tonic and antioxidant, reducing neural damage caused by free radicals and enhancing glutathione peroxidase activity.
