Indications

Merison is recommended for the treatment of vertigo and dizziness associated with various conditions, including Meniere’s disease, Meniere’s syndrome, and Peripheral vertigo.

Pharmacology

Betahistine Mesilate works by widening precapillary sphincters, which enhances blood flow within the inner ear. This mechanism helps regulate the permeability of capillaries, effectively reducing endolymphatic hydrops. Additionally, it aids in improving cerebral circulation, thereby increasing blood flow in the internal carotid artery. Consequently, Betahistine Mesylate is clinically beneficial in alleviating symptoms of vertigo and dizziness.

Betahistine Mesilate facilitates increased microcirculation blood flow within the inner ear, mitigating endolymphatic hydrops. Furthermore, it notably enhances blood flow within the internal carotid artery.

For alleviating discomfort associated with cerebral disturbances: Betahistine demonstrates significant efficacy in reducing sensations of giddiness upon standing, feelings of instability, and symptoms of dizziness. It effectively addresses the sensation of heaviness in the head and associated discomforts.

For managing dizziness and related sensations resulting from inner ear disturbances: Betahistine enhances microcirculation within the inner ear and resolves endolymph hydrops, thus providing relief from dizziness in conditions such as Meniere’s disease and Meniere’s syndrome. It also effectively alleviates symptoms like tinnitus, sensation of ear obstructions, nausea, and vomiting. Dosage & Administration

Typically, for adults, orally administer 1 to 2 tablets three times a day after meals. Dosage adjustments may be made based on the patient’s age and symptom severity.

Avoid Betahistine Mesylate in cases of hypersensitivity to the medication, pheochromocytoma, peptic ulcer, or acute bronchial asthma.
