Indications
Lymeclin Capsules are part of the tetracycline antibiotic class, primarily used for treating acne, including blackheads and whiteheads commonly referred to as pimples or spots.
In addition to acne, this medication can effectively address various other infections, such as:
- Acute sinusitis
- Bronchitis
- Abdominal infections
- Trachoma, a specific type of eye infection
- Soft tissue infections
Always use as directed by a registered healthcare professional.
Pharmacology
Lymecycline, a derivative of tetracycline, inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. This action prevents the incorporation of amino acids into the growing peptide chain, effectively halting bacterial growth.
Dosage
For Adults and Children Over 12:
- Acne Treatment: The standard dosage is one capsule daily, preferably taken in the morning with a full glass of water. Duration of treatment typically lasts a minimum of eight weeks, depending on individual response.
- Other Infections: For infections, the usual dosage is one capsule twice daily. Your doctor may adjust this based on the infection type and severity. Always consult your physician for clarity.
Note for Children and Adolescents: Lymeclin capsules are not recommended for children under 12 due to the risk of permanent tooth enamel discoloration and potential impact on bone development.
Always use as directed by a registered healthcare professional.
Administration
Take on an empty stomach—ideally one hour before or two hours after meals.
Always use as directed by a registered healthcare professional.

Avoid use if you have hypersensitivity to lymecycline or other tetracyclines, renal insufficiency, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use concurrently with methoxyflurane or oral retinoids.
