Indications

• Locular 0.2% Ophthalmic Solution: For lowering intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
• Locular 0.15% Ophthalmic Solution: For controlling intraocular pressure in patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
• Locular 0.025% Ophthalmic Solution: Relieves redness of the eye due to minor eye irritations.

Opsonin Pharma introduces preservative-free sterile eye drops with OSD (Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser) for the first time in Bangladesh.

Pharmacology

Brimonidine: An α-2 adrenoreceptor agonist, it reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production and enhancing uveoscleral outflow.

Dosage & Administration

Follow recommended dosages for each concentration, administering drops as directed and allowing intervals between concomitant medications.

Interaction

Caution advised with CNS depressants and alpha-agonists, as they may affect pulse and blood pressure.

Contraindications

Avoid in patients hypersensitive to Brimonidine Tartrate or receiving MAO inhibitor therapy.

Side Effects

Common adverse events include oral dryness, ocular hyperemia, burning, stinging, headache, and blurring.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully considered based on potential benefits versus risks.

Precautions & Warnings

Exercise caution in patients with severe cardiovascular disease and those with certain conditions like depression or orthostatic hypotension.
