Composition
Each vaginal suppository includes:
- Metronidazole BP 200 mg
- Neomycin Sulphate BP 35000 IU
- Polymyxin B Sulphate BP 35000 IU
- Nystatin BP 100000 IU.
Pharmacology
Metronidazole, a nitroimidazole, effectively targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Nystatin acts as a polyene antibiotic with antifungal properties. Neomycin, an aminoglycoside, exhibits bactericidal activity against certain gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Polymyxin is effective against gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Dosage & Administration
Administer one suppository intravaginally at bedtime for 12 days or as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
