Indications

This eye drop serves as a lubricant to alleviate irritation and discomfort caused by dryness, wind, or sun exposure.

Composition

Each milliliter of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium sterile eye gel contains:

• Active Ingredient: Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium USP 10 mg
• Preservative: Purite 0.0075%

Pharmacology

Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium acts as an ocular lubricant, effectively relieving symptoms associated with moderate to severe dry eye syndrome (DES) while providing long-lasting protection against dryness and irritation. This formulation mimics the natural tears, featuring a gentle, non-sensitizing preservative that breaks down into components found in natural tears. The pharmacological action of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium is non-receptor mediated, primarily enhancing viscosity to extend the retention time of the drops.

Dosage & Administration

Administer 1 drop into the affected eye(s) up to four times daily or as needed.

Interactions

When using multiple ocular medications, maintain a minimum interval of 5 minutes between applications.

Contraindications

This eye drop is not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

Precautions & Warnings

• Remove contact lenses prior to application.
• Discard the solution if it changes color or becomes cloudy.
• Avoid touching the tip of the container to any surface to prevent contamination, and securely replace the cap after each use.

Use in Special Populations

• Pediatric Use: Not recommended for infants and children under 3 years old.
• Geriatric Use: No significant differences in safety or effectiveness have been noted between elderly and other adult patients.

Storage Conditions

Use the product within 30 days of opening. Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C in a dry environment, away from light. Ensure the bottle is tightly closed after each use and keep out of reach of children.
