Pharmacology
Adapalene, acting on retinoid receptors in facial, back, and chest skin, modulates cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammation. Its specific binding with retinoic acid nuclear receptors normalizes follicular epithelial cell differentiation, reducing microcomedone formation.
Dosage
- Adapalene 0.1%: Apply once daily at night to affected areas.
- Adapalene 0.3%: Apply once daily in the evening to the entire face and affected skin areas.
Administration
Apply a thin film of gel or cream to affected areas, covering lightly.
Interaction
Exercise caution with concomitant use of potentially irritating topical products. Avoid combining with sulfur, resorcinol, or salicylic acid preparations unless effects have subsided.
