Indications
Flamex oral dosage form is recommended for treating a variety of conditions, including:

- Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation)

Flamex topical gel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps reduce pain, inflammation, and fever. It is effective for treating:
- Back pain
- Rheumatic and muscular pain
- Sprains, strains, and sports injuries
- Non-serious arthritic pain
- Neuralgia (nerve pain)

Pharmacology
Ibuprofen in Flamex has strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. It works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme, reducing prostaglandin production, which in turn alleviates pain, swelling, and stiffness. This mechanism helps improve joint mobility for arthritis sufferers and provides rapid relief from various pain-related conditions.
Dosage & Administration
Oral dosage form:
- Adults: Start with 400 mg three times daily, with a maximum daily dose of 2400 mg.
- Children: Dosage varies based on age and weight. Max daily dose should not exceed 30 mg/kg.
Topical gel dosage:
- Adults: Apply 4 to 10 cm (1.6 to 4 inches) of gel to the affected area, massaging until absorbed. Use no more than four times a day with a minimum 4-hour gap between doses.
- Children under 12: Use not recommended.
Always follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
Contraindications
Flamex should not be used by individuals with:
- Known hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen
- Active or severe peptic ulcers
