Indications

• Equra 10% cream is indicated for:
  • Ichthyosis and dry skin conditions
  • Management of eczemas
  • Management of psoriasis

Pharmacology

• Topical urea exhibits bacteriostatic, bactericidal, fungistatic, proteolytic, and hygroscopic properties, with mild local anesthetic effects.
• Its therapeutic effects primarily stem from its hygroscopic nature, enhancing water retention in the skin’s outer layer.
• Clinical studies have demonstrated a doubling of water holding capacity in ichthyotic scale after three weeks of treatment with 10% urea cream.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply Urea 10% cream topically twice daily on well-washed and dried affected areas, with occlusive dressings if necessary.
• Safe for use in all age groups, including children.
