Indications
White Soft Paraffin and Liquid Paraffin serve as emollients to alleviate dry skin conditions effectively.
Pharmacology
These emollients possess occlusive properties when applied topically, ensuring symptomatic relief. While systemic absorption is minimal, they deeply penetrate the skin’s outer layer.
Dosage & Administration
Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected skin area, following the hair growth direction, as needed. For optimal results, use three to four times daily or at least twice daily. Adults may apply up to 500 g weekly for extensive skin issues. Strictly for topical use.
Side Effects
Extended usage may lead to folliculitis; discontinue product application if this occurs.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding hasn’t been definitively established, no significant hazards are associated with their use during these periods.
Precautions & Warnings
To minimize the risk of folliculitis, apply the topical agent following the hair growth direction.
Overdose Effects
With low toxicity, ingestion requires supportive and symptomatic treatment. Avoid gastric lavage due to the risk of aspiration.
