Indications
This lotion is indicated for treating scabies and pruritus.
Usage Instructions for Permethrin Cream/Lotion
- Preparation: After bathing, dry the entire body thoroughly.
- Application:
- For children under 2 years: Apply permethrin cream to the neck, ears, head, and face, avoiding the eyes and mouth. For lotion, apply evenly over the whole body.
- For those over 2 years and adults: Apply the cream to areas like the fingers, folds, and external genitalia, avoiding the face and head. For lotion, apply from the neck down to the feet.
- Clothing: Wash family members’ clothing in hot water to prevent reinfection.
- Rinsing: Wash off the application thoroughly with soap and warm water 8-24 hours later. If washed within 8 hours, reapply.
- Repeat if Necessary: Follow the doctor’s guidance for a repeat application after 7 days.

Pharmacology
Permethrin, a pyrethroid, disrupts nerve cell function in parasites, leading to paralysis and death. Crotamiton acts as a scabicide and antipruritic, effective against Sarcoptes scabei.
Dosage
- For adults, children above 2 months, and the elderly, apply to clean, dry skin. Avoid broken skin, mucous membranes, and eyes.
- Adults & children over 2 years: Apply from neck to feet, with extra attention to areas between fingers, under nails, and external genitalia.
- Elderly: Apply over the entire body, including the neck, face, and scalp.
- Children under 2 years: Use only under medical supervision and apply over the entire body, avoiding areas near the mouth and eyes.
Administration
Apply to cool, dry skin, avoiding the head. Wash off after 8-12 hours, clean clothes and bedding, and reapply if washed off within 8 hours. Family members should apply preventatively.
Interaction
Avoid corticosteroids during treatment, as they can reduce immune response to scabies mites.
Contraindications
Permethrin and crotamiton combination is contraindicated for individuals with hypersensitivity to either compound.
Side Effects
Some users may experience mild, transient burning or stinging, especially in severe cases of scabies, as well as potential temporary skin irritation.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Due to limited data on safety during pregnancy, usage is not recommended, especially in the first trimester. Nursing mothers should avoid applying near the nipples.
Precautions & Warnings
Keep out of children’s reach. For external use only. Nursing staff may wear gloves to avoid irritation. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse with water.
Overdose Effects
No reports of overdose; excessive skin application may cause local irritation. In case of accidental ingestion, consider gastric lavage within 2 hours.

Store in a cool place (below 25°C), away from light, and do not freeze.
