Indications:
Shampoo is indicated for the treatment of Seborrheic dermatitis, Dandruff, Inflammation, and Swelling of the scalp.
Pharmacology:
Ciclopirox Olamine is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent effective against dermatophytes, yeasts, and Malassezia furfur. It exhibits fungicidal activity against Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis, and Candida albicans. Ciclopirox Olamine’s mode of action involves inhibiting essential substrate uptake in fungal cells, leading to growth inhibition or death. It also possesses antibacterial properties against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis.
Dosage & Administration:
Wet hair and apply approximately 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of Ciclopirox Olamine Shampoo to the scalp; increase to 2 teaspoons (10 ml) for long hair. Lather and leave on hair and scalp for 3 minutes, using a timer if necessary. Avoid contact with eyes. Repeat treatment twice per week for 4 weeks, with at least 3 days between applications.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to any components of the shampoo.
Side Effects:
Well-tolerated with a low incidence of adverse reactions reported in clinical trials.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy category B; caution advised when used by nursing women due to potential excretion in human milk.
Precautions & Warnings:
Not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use.

No clinical trials conducted in individuals younger than 16 years.
