Indications

Rubbing alcohol is commonly used as a topical antiseptic for disinfecting skin and surfaces. It has various industrial and household applications. The term “rubbing alcohol” typically refers to either isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) or ethyl alcohol (ethanol), both of which are widely used as antiseptics.

Pharmacology

Both ethanol and isopropyl alcohol are types of alcohol with strong disinfectant properties. Ethanol is the alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, while isopropyl alcohol, also known as isopropanol or 2-propanol, is commonly referred to as rubbing alcohol. When used for disinfection, both alcohols are generally diluted to a 70% concentration in water to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply 1-2 pumps of the gel to the hands.
• Rub hands together, covering both palms and fingers thoroughly.
• Ensure to apply the gel between the fingers and on the nails, rubbing until it is absorbed and hands are dry.
• Within seconds, your hands will be sanitized and free from germs.
