Please follow your healthcare provider’s advice regarding medication usage.
Composition
Each milliliter of this sterile eye drop contains:
- Adenosine BP: 2 mg
- Cytochrome-C Ph. Gr.: 0.5 mg
- Sodium Succinate Ph. Gr.: 0.6 mg
- Nicotinamide BP: 10 mg
Preservative: Thiomersal 0.005%
Pharmacology
Cytochrome C plays a crucial role in oxidative phosphorylation, facilitating the synthesis of ATP from ADP. Anhydrous Sodium Succinate, an intermediate compound, enhances ATP production. Adenosine is vital for energy generation necessary for the lens’s essential functions, such as glutathione biosynthesis, intermembrane transport of ions and amino acids, and the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and nucleic acids. Nicotinamide contributes to the formation of ATP and NADPH, which are significant in protecting cells against oxidative stress and free radicals by preserving reduced glutathione levels.
