Indications
Atier Ophthalmic Solution is recommended for the treatment of tear deficiency caused by:
- Reduced lacrimal secretion
- Functional issues due to topical or systemic conditions
- Incomplete eyelid closure leading to insufficient tear distribution
Atier Ophthalmic Gel, enhanced with Carbomer 980, provides long-lasting lubrication for the eye’s surface. This gel is ideal for patients experiencing ocular discomfort. Its slight hypotonicity is effectively balanced by the slightly hypertonic nature of tear fluid in dry eyes.
Always use this medication as prescribed by a registered healthcare professional.
Pharmacology
Hypromellose is a semi-synthetic, inert polymer known for its viscoelastic properties, making it an effective ophthalmic lubricant. It serves as an artificial tear, aiding in the relief of dehydration in the cornea and conjunctiva. This occurs due to insufficient lacrimal secretion, functional disturbances from either topical or systemic conditions, or incomplete eyelid closure.
Dosage & Administration
Ophthalmic Solution: The dosage for dry eye syndrome should be tailored to the individual’s needs.
- 0.3% Hypromellose: Typically, one drop should be applied to the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day, or as directed by your doctor.
- 0.5% Hypromellose: Dosage may vary based on the patient’s condition. Always follow your doctor’s guidance.
Ophthalmic Gel: Apply 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed. The frequency of administration depends on the severity of symptoms. On average, one drop is recommended 1-3 times a day, with the possibility of more frequent use if advised by your healthcare provider.
Always follow the advice of a registered healthcare professional.
