Indications
For proper administration, adhere to the injection technique recommended by your physician or healthcare professional. Fully press the push-button to administer the medication. Keep the push-button depressed during the entire medication discharge process. Once the medication has been fully dispensed, wait for 6 seconds before slowly removing the pen needle. You have the option to either maintain pressure on the push-button or release it during these 6 seconds.
Description
Pen Device: Designed specifically for diabetes patients, this insulin delivery device resembles a pen, featuring a push, twist, and lock cartridge holder for convenient insulin injection. Users can easily inject insulin, accurately read and adjust dosages, and swiftly replace cartridges. The device accommodates injections ranging from 1 to 60 units of insulin or any 3 mL cartridge. In case of dosage errors, adjustments can be made without wasting insulin.
Pen Needle:
- 4 mm needles offer lower risk of intramuscular injections compared to 6 mm needles.
- Unique needle design minimizes the risk of bending or breakage.
- The 4 mm length is suitable for subcutaneous delivery, regardless of BMI.
- Compatible with most pen devices, simplifying usage.
Dosage & Administration
Pen Preparation or Cartridge Replacement:
- Remove the pen cap.
- Twist to remove the cartridge sleeve.
- Replace the empty cartridge if necessary.
- Insert the new cartridge into the sleeve.
- Push the threaded rod fully back.
- Secure the cartridge sleeve to the housing by twisting it.
Attaching the Pen Needle:
- Peel off the protective foil.
- Twist the pen needle onto the cartridge sleeve, ensuring a secure attachment.
- Remove the outer protective cap. Retain it for safe disposal of the pen needle post-use.
- Discard the inner protective cap.
Priming / Function Check:
- Dial the test dose by turning the dosage knob clockwise (minimum 2 units).
- For function check, hold the Pen upright and tap the cartridge sleeve gently to allow air bubbles to rise.
- Press the push-button.
- A few drops of insulin should emerge from the pen needle tip.
After each injection, carefully attach the outer protective cap to the pen needle. Dispose of the pen needle appropriately, following your physician or healthcare professional’s guidance.
Storage Conditions
Store and handle needles and cartridges as per the provided instructions. Always cap the pen after use. Keep the Pen in its pouch without a pen needle attached. Store at room temperature below or equal to 30°C, protecting it from water, dust, and moisture. Clean the Pen with a damp cloth; avoid alcohol, solvents, or cleaning agents. Do not immerse the Pen in water to prevent damage.
