Indications
Used for occasional constipation relief and bowel cleansing needs, such as before and after lower bowel surgery, delivery, and medical procedures like proctoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy.
Pharmacology
Acts as a saline laxative when administered rectally, promoting fluid accumulation in the lower bowel to induce peristalsis and facilitate bowel movement.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults, Elderly, and Children over 12 years: 133 ml (118 ml delivered dose) once daily or as directed.
- Children aged 5 to less than 12 years: 66 ml (59 ml delivered dose) once daily.
- Children aged 2 to less than 5 years: 66 ml (59 ml delivered dose) once daily. Encourage adequate fluid intake to prevent dehydration.
Interaction
Caution advised when used with medications affecting electrolyte levels. Avoid concurrent use with other sodium phosphate preparations or lithium therapy.
Contraindications
Avoid use in patients with certain conditions like congestive heart failure, renal impairment, gastrointestinal obstruction, and hypersensitivity to active ingredients.

Pregnancy & Lactation
