Indications
- Patadin Eye Drops:
Patadin eye drops effectively treat symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis, including itchy, watery, red, and swollen eyes and eyelids. This includes conditions like vernal keratoconjunctivitis, vernal keratitis, blepharitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, and giant papillary conjunctivitis. - Alacot DS Nasal Spray:
Alacot DS Nasal Spray, an H1 receptor antagonist, provides relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms in adults and children aged 6 and above. - Alacot DS Tablet:
Alacot DS tablet is indicated for allergic rhinitis and allergic skin conditions, easing symptoms such as skin rashes, swelling, hives, itching, sneezing, and a runny or stuffy nose.
Pharmacology
Olopatadine, an antihistamine, alleviates allergy symptoms by blocking histamine action. It stabilizes mast cells, inhibiting histamine release and acting as a selective antagonist at histamine H1 receptors.
Dosage
- Eye Drops:
- 0.1%: Administer one drop in each affected eye twice daily, with a 6 to 8-hour interval.
- 0.2%: Apply one drop in the affected eye once daily.
- 0.7%: Use one drop in each affected eye once daily.
- Nasal Spray:
- Adults and Adolescents 12 years and older: Administer two sprays per nostril twice daily.
- Children 6 to 11 years: Administer one spray per nostril twice daily.
- Tablet:
- Adults: Take 1 tablet (5 mg) twice daily.
- Children 7 years and older: Take 1 tablet (5 mg) twice daily.
Administration
Follow the provided instructions for proper administration of Alacot DS Nasal Spray. Clean the nasal spray weekly as directed.
Interactions
Formal drug-drug interaction studies were not conducted for Alacot DS Nasal Spray. However, interactions involving liver enzymes inhibitors or P450 inhibition are not expected.

Side Effects
