Indications
Anustat is designed to treat a range of anorectal conditions, including:
- Internal and external hemorrhoids
- Post-partum hemorrhoidal symptoms
- Anal itching, peri-anal eczema, anal fissures, and proctitis
- Pain and discomfort following hemorrhoidectomy
Composition
Ointment: Each gram contains:
- Cinchocaine Hydrochloride BP 5 mg
- Hydrocortisone USP 5 mg
- Neomycin Sulphate BP (equivalent to 10 mg Neomycin)
- Esculin Sesquihydrate (equivalent to 10 mg Esculin)
Suppository: Each suppository contains:
- Cinchocaine Hydrochloride BP 5 mg
- Hydrocortisone USP 5 mg
- Neomycin Sulphate BP (equivalent to 10 mg Neomycin)
- Esculin Sesquihydrate (equivalent to 10 mg Esculin)
Pharmacology
Cinchocaine is a local anesthetic that alleviates severe pain and relaxes sphincter spasm. Hydrocortisone provides anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects, reducing itching and inflammation. Neomycin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, helps eliminate infections in the anorectal area. Esculin enhances skin vasculature, aiding in the management of cellulitis.
Dosage & Administration
Ointment: Apply a small amount to the affected area twice daily, in the morning and evening, and after each bowel movement. For deeper application, use the attached nozzle, insert it fully, and gently squeeze while withdrawing.
Suppository: Insert one suppository in the morning, one in the evening, and one after each bowel movement.
Use in Children: Not recommended for use in children. Consult a healthcare professional before use.
Contraindications
Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any ingredient in the product.

Precautions & Warnings
Hydrocortisone may be absorbed systemically with long-term use, potentially causing adverse effects. Avoid prolonged use to prevent adrenal suppression and skin striae. Neomycin may cause skin sensitization and, if absorbed, can affect hearing. Avoid use on extensively damaged skin.
