Indications
Zerocal serves as a sugar substitute, ideal for sweetening various foods and beverages such as tea, coffee, desserts, and fruit juices. With zero calories, it’s a preferred choice for health-conscious individuals and can be especially beneficial for diabetic patients, as confirmed by the FDA.
Pharmacology
Sucralose, the key ingredient, is a calorie-free artificial sweetener derived from sucrose. It’s about 600 times sweeter than sugar and undergoes minimal metabolism, making it safe for consumption. Sucralose does not affect tooth decay, carbohydrate metabolism, or fetal development, and is considered safe for diabetes patients.
Dosage & Administration
The recommended daily intake of sucralose is 5-15 mg/kg body weight. Typically, one tablet (8 mg) in a beverage is sufficient for sweetening. Sucralose Sweet Drops can also be used, with one drop equivalent to one teaspoon of sugar.
