Pharmacology
Vitamin B1 is crucial for converting carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids into energy, promoting healthy nerve function, enhancing mood, and supporting heart health. Vitamin B6 is vital for red blood cell formation, protein synthesis, neurotransmitter production (such as serotonin), and preventing cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Additionally, it helps alleviate depression and insomnia. Vitamin B12 is essential for cellular replication, red blood cell production, and preventing anemia. It also reduces symptoms of nerve pain, numbness, and tingling, while lowering the risk of heart disease.
These vitamins are effectively absorbed when taken orally and are distributed throughout the body, including in breast milk. Thiamine primarily exists as diphosphate within cells, with excess amounts excreted in urine. Pyridoxine and its derivatives are also well-absorbed and converted into active forms, stored mainly in the liver, and excreted as inactive metabolites.
