Indications:
Cream or Ointment:

Solution:
Prevents and treats surface infections, degerms skin for hyperalimentation procedures, and seborrhea. Ideal for preoperative and postoperative scrubbing, wound disinfection, and as a prophylactic agent.
Gargle & Mouthwash:
Treats acute mucosal infections of the mouth and pharynx. Ensures oral hygiene during and after dental surgeries.
Surgical Scrub:
Antiseptic cleanser for preoperative and postoperative skin preparation by medical personnel. Prepares skin surfaces thoroughly for surgical procedures.
Powder:
Topical application for superficial wounds, burns, cuts, abrasions, and lacerations. Prevents infections and supports wound healing.
Ophthalmic Solution:
Symptomatic relief for dry eye conditions like keratoconjunctivitis sicca. Substitute for tear fluid to maintain eye surface moisture.
Pharmacology:
Povidone Iodine:
A complex of iodine and povidone, offering prolonged germicidal action against a broad spectrum of microbes including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Dosage & Administration:
Cream or Ointment: Apply once or twice daily for up to 14 days for treatment; weekly for prevention.
Solution: Apply undiluted or diluted as needed; suitable for paint, spray, or soak.
Gargle & Mouthwash: Use undiluted or diluted with warm water; gargle or rinse up to four times daily for up to 14 days.
Surgical Scrub: Wet hands with water, apply, lather, and scrub thoroughly for preoperative and postoperative use.
Powder: Light dusting on affected area; no special dosage for children or elderly.
Ophthalmic Solution: Instill one drop up to four times daily into the conjunctival sac.
Interaction:
Interacts with strong alkalis and certain medications like lithium; caution advised.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity reactions; avoid in thyroid disorders and children under 2 years.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
