Indications:
Tusca Plus syrup is used to relieve cough, associated congestive symptoms, and promote restful sleep.
Composition:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
- Guaifenesin BP 100 mg
- Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg
- Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 14 mg
Pharmacology:
Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant, reducing sputum viscosity. Levomenthol provides mild local anesthetic and decongestant properties. Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride offers antitussive, antihistaminic, and anticholinergic effects.
Dosage & Administration:
For adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls of syrup, 4 times a day or as directed. Do not exceed 8 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours.
Interaction:
May potentiate effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants due to Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride.
Contraindications:
Avoid if hypersensitive to any ingredient or with recent MAOI treatment.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and blurred vision.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use with caution during pregnancy; no adverse effects reported in breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery. Contraindicated in narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy.
Overdose Effects:
Excessive Guaifenesin intake may lead to renal calculi; manage symptoms supportively.
Therapeutic Class:
Combined cough expectorants.

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
