Indications
Topicort exhibits anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressant, and antimitotic actions, making it effective in various dermatological conditions. It is indicated for primary irritant dermatitis, contact allergic dermatitis, eczema (atopic, infantile, discoid, stasis), seborrheic dermatitis, lichen simplex, pruritus ani, flexural psoriasis, and various skin irritations, itching, and rashes caused by insect bites, minor burns, or sunburn.

Hydrocortisone, the active ingredient, binds to cytosolic glucocorticoid receptors, leading to modulation of gene expression and inhibition of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It suppresses immune responses and diminishes inflammatory events, including cell adhesion, chemotaxis, and release of inflammatory mediators.
