Indications
Ticas effectively relieves inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive eczema/dermatitis.
Pharmacology
Containing Fluticasone propionate, a potent glucocorticoid with high topical anti-inflammatory potency and low HPA-axis suppressive activity, Ticas offers a therapeutic index greater than most available steroids.
Dosage & Administration
For cream, apply a thin layer once daily; for ointment, apply twice daily to affected skin areas.
Interaction
No known interactions are reported.
Contraindications
Avoid use in conditions like Rosacea, Acne vulgaris, and primary cutaneous viral infections, as well as in cases of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Use with caution in children under one year and for primarily infected skin lesions caused by fungi or bacteria.
Side Effects
While usually well-tolerated, Ticas may cause local burning and pruritus. Prolonged and intensive treatment may lead to local atrophic changes in the skin. Exacerbation of dermatoses and secondary infections are also possible.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Consider administration during pregnancy only if benefits outweigh risks. Excretion into breast milk is unknown; weigh therapeutic benefits against potential hazards during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Prolonged application to large areas, especially in infants, may lead to adrenal suppression. Monitor for systemic toxicity, particularly in children. Use with caution on the face and in cases of severe eczema. Proper antimicrobial therapy is necessary for infected lesions.
Overdose Effects
Acute overdosage is unlikely; discontinue use in cases of chronic overdosage. Oral bioavailability of Ticas is very low, reducing the risk of overdose by ingestion.
Therapeutic Class
Ticas belongs to the therapeutic class of Fluticasone & combined preparations topical.
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C and avoid freezing.
