Indications
T-Cure Cream is an allylamine antifungal treatment specifically designed for addressing interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm) caused by Trichophyton rubrum.
Always use this medication as directed by a registered healthcare professional.
Description
T-Cure is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent and an allylamine derivative. Although the in vitro data demonstrate its effectiveness, the clinical relevance is not yet fully established. T-Cure has shown fungicidal properties in vitro against various fungi, including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Epidermophyton floccosum, as well as Microsporum canis, Microsporum audouini, and Microsporum gypseum. Additionally, it exhibits fungistatic effects against Candida species, such as Candida albicans. However, it is only intended for the treatment of the conditions specified in the indications.
Pharmacology
While the precise mechanism of action against fungal infections remains unclear, Naftifine, the active ingredient in T-Cure, is believed to disrupt sterol biosynthesis by inhibiting the enzyme squalene 2,3-epoxidase. This inhibition leads to a reduction in sterol levels, particularly ergosterol, alongside an accumulation of squalene within fungal cells.
Dosage & Administration
For topical application only. Naftifine Cream should not be used for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal purposes. Apply a thin layer of Naftifine Cream once daily to the affected areas, extending to a ½-inch margin of healthy skin for a duration of 2 weeks.
Always follow the advice of a registered healthcare professional when using this medication.
Side Effects
The most frequently reported side effect (≥1%) is pruritus (itching).
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category B. While there are no adequate, well-controlled studies of Naftifine Cream in pregnant women, it should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits justify any possible risks to the fetus.
Nursing Mothers: The excretion of this medication in human breast milk is not known. Due to the possibility of many drugs being excreted in breast milk, caution is advised when administering Naftifine Cream to nursing women.
Precautions & Warnings
Discontinue use of T-Cure Cream if any redness or irritation occurs during treatment.
Use in Special Populations
Pediatric Use: The safety and efficacy of T-Cure Cream have been established for individuals aged 12-17 with interdigital tinea pedis and tinea cruris. Safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients under 12 years of age.
Geriatric Use: Clinical studies involving T-Cure Cream did not include a sufficient number of participants aged 65 and over to determine any differences in response compared to younger patients.
