Indications
Sultolin SR serves as a bronchodilator, prescribed for conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other ailments associated with airway obstruction.
Pharmacology
Salbutamol, a synthetic sympathomimetic agent, primarily exhibits beta-2 adrenergic activity. By stimulating beta-2-adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscles, Salbutamol induces bronchodilation, leading to the relaxation of bronchial muscle fibers. This action results in enhanced pulmonary function, as evidenced by spirometric measurements.
Dosage & Administration
- Salbutamol tablet or syrup:
- Children (2-6 years): 2.5 ml syrup, 3-4 times daily
- Children (6-12 years): 5 ml syrup, 3-4 times daily
