- For disinfection of surgical instruments.
- For disinfecting the skin prior to surgery or other invasive procedures.

Composition
This preparation contains:
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate (equivalent to 2.5% v/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate solution BP)

Pharmacology
Chlorhexidine acts by releasing a positively charged cation at physiological pH, which binds to the negatively charged bacterial cell walls. At low concentrations, chlorhexidine is bacteriostatic, while at higher concentrations, it disrupts the cell membrane, leading to cell death.
