Pharmacology

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that offers both anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. It effectively inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which plays a key role in the synthesis of prostaglandins. When taken orally, Aceclofenac is rapidly and completely absorbed in its unchanged form.

Dosage & Administration

• Extended Release Tablets: The typical adult dosage is one 200 mg Aceclofenac tablet once daily, or as directed by your physician.
• Film-Coated Tablets: The recommended dosage for adults is 100 mg taken twice daily.

Interactions

While no significant drug interactions have been observed, close monitoring is advised when used alongside:

• Lithium and Digoxin: May elevate plasma levels of these medications.
• Diuretics: Potential interaction affecting diuretic activity.

• Methotrexate: Could increase plasma concentrations of methotrexate.

Contraindications

Aceclofenac should not be used by individuals with a known hypersensitivity to the drug or those who experience asthma attacks triggered by aspirin or NSAIDs.

Side Effects

Pregnancy & Lactation
