Indications
Ororinse Mouthwash is a powerful antimicrobial solution designed to inhibit dental plaque formation. It is recommended for the treatment and prevention of gingivitis and for maintaining optimal oral hygiene, especially in circumstances where regular tooth brushing is insufficient, such as after oral surgery or for patients with mental or physical disabilities. Additionally, it can support gingival healing in post-periodontal surgery care.

Pharmacology
Chlorhexidine serves as an effective cationic chemoprophylactic agent, exhibiting a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Its effects can be bacteriostatic or bactericidal, depending on the concentration used. The bactericidal action occurs at higher concentrations, where the cationic molecules bind to the negatively charged bacterial cell walls, disrupting their integrity. In contrast, at lower concentrations, it exerts a bacteriostatic effect by altering the osmotic balance within the bacterial cells, leading to leakage of essential elements like potassium and phosphorus.
Dosage & Administration
For adults: Rinse the mouth thoroughly with 10 ml of Ororinse Mouthwash for approximately one minute, twice daily. Patients undergoing dental procedures should rinse their mouths for one minute prior to treatment. It is important to note that Chlorhexidine Gluconate is incompatible with anionic agents commonly found in regular toothpaste. Therefore, these products should be used before Chlorhexidine Gluconate, ensuring the mouth is rinsed between applications, or at different times throughout the day.
For gingivitis treatment, a duration of about one month is typically recommended, though individual responses may vary. In cases of aphthous ulcers or oral candidiasis, continue treatment for 48 hours after the symptoms resolve. For dental stomatitis, dentures should be cleaned and soaked in the mouthwash for fifteen minutes, twice daily.
For children and elderly patients: The standard adult dosage is generally suitable for elderly individuals and children aged 12 and older unless advised otherwise by a dentist or physician. Children under 12 should use this product only if recommended by a healthcare professional.
Route of Administration: For external (oral) use only.

Contraindications
Chlorhexidine Gluconate should not be used by individuals who have previously experienced hypersensitivity reactions to Chlorhexidine or any other ingredients in the formulation. Such reactions are exceedingly rare.
Side Effects
- Discoloration: Temporary discoloration of the tongue may occur, which resolves after discontinuation of the mouthwash. Tooth discoloration and staining of silicate or composite restorations may also happen, but these stains are not permanent and can often be minimized by reducing the intake of tea, coffee, and red wine, as well as maintaining regular brushing with conventional toothpaste.
- Taste Changes: Some users may experience a transient alteration in taste sensation or a burning feeling on the tongue, particularly upon initial use. These symptoms generally subside with continued usage.
- Oral Desquamation: If oral desquamation occurs, diluting the mouthwash with an equal volume of freshly mixed tap water can allow for ongoing use.
- Parotid Gland Swelling: Rare instances of parotid gland swelling have been reported, typically resolving spontaneously upon stopping the treatment.
- Irritative Skin Reactions: Occasionally, irritative skin reactions may occur in response to chlorhexidine preparations.
- General Reactions: Allergic reactions, including hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis, are very rare but may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
