Indications
Neocilor is designed to alleviate symptoms of both seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, nasal congestion, and ocular discomfort such as itching, tearing, and redness. It also helps relieve itching in the palate and persistent coughing. Additionally, Neocilor is effective in managing chronic idiopathic urticaria by reducing itching and the size and number of hives.

Pharmacology
Neocilor contains Desloratadine, the active metabolite of Loratadine, which is a non-sedating, long-lasting tricyclic histamine antagonist. It selectively blocks H1-receptors and also prevents histamine release from human mast cells, offering effective relief from allergic reactions.
Dosage & Administration
Pediatric Drops:
- 6 to 11 months: 2 ml, once daily
- 1 to 2 years: 2.5 ml, once daily
Syrup:
- 6 to 11 months: 2 ml, once daily
- 1 to 5 years: 2.5 ml, once daily
- 6 to 11 years: 5 ml, once daily
- Adults & >12 years: 10 ml, once daily
Tablet:
- Adults & children (12 years and above): 1 tablet daily

Drug Interactions
No significant drug interactions have been reported with Desloratadine.
Contraindications
Desloratadine is contraindicated for individuals who are hypersensitive to Desloratadine, any of its components, or Loratadine.
Side Effects
While uncommon, some side effects of Desloratadine may include headache, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, sore throat, indigestion, and muscle pain.
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C: The safety of Desloratadine during pregnancy has not been established. It should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary.

Precautions & Warnings
