Indications
Menoral is formulated to address the following conditions:
- Metropathia hemorrhagic (dysfunctional uterine bleeding)
- Premenstrual syndrome
- Postponement of menstruation
- Endometriosis
- Menorrhagia
Pharmacology
Menoral contains Norethisterone tablets, which exhibit progestational actions akin to progesterone but with heightened potency in inhibiting ovulation. Additionally, it possesses weak estrogenic and androgenic properties, effectively treating various menstrual cycle disorders. Norethisterone is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, ensuring sustained effects lasting at least 24 hours, with excretion occurring in the urine.
Dosage & Administration
Menoral is administered orally and is intended for adult use only.
- Metropathia hemorrhagic (dysfunctional uterine bleeding): Take 1 tablet three times daily for 10 days. Bleeding is typically arrested within 1-3 days, with withdrawal bleeding resembling normal menstruation occurring 2-4 days after discontinuation.
- Prophylaxis against recurrence of dysfunctional bleeding: If signs of normal ovarian function are absent, anticipate recurrence. Establish cyclical bleeding with 1 tablet twice daily from the 19th to the 26th day of the cycle.
- Premenstrual syndrome: Alleviate symptoms by taking 2-3 tablets daily from the 19th to the 26th day of the cycle. Repeat treatment across several cycles for optimal results.
- Postponement of menstruation: Initiate 1 tablet thrice daily, starting 3 days before expected menstruation onset. Normal menstruation typically resumes 2-3 days after stopping treatment.
- Endometriosis: Begin long-term treatment with 2 tablets daily on the 5th day of the cycle, adjusting dosage as needed. Treatment duration spans 4-6 months continuously or longer if required.
- Menorrhagia: Take 1 tablet 2-3 times daily from the 19th to the 26th day of the cycle.
