Indications
Lulitop cream is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by the organisms Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Pharmacology
Luliconazole is a topical antifungal agent that inhibits the enzyme lanosterol demethylase, blocking ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. It exhibits strong fungicidal activity against dermatophytes, Candida albicans, Malassezia spp, Trichophyton, and Epidermophyton spp.
Dosage & Administration
In adults and geriatrics, apply Luliconazole cream once daily for two weeks on interdigital tinea pedis and once daily for one week on tinea cruris and tinea corporis. Pediatric safety and efficacy have not been established.
Contraindications
Luliconazole cream is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Luliconazole.
Side Effects
Contact dermatitis and cellulitis may occur, with less than 1% of subjects experiencing application site reactions in clinical trials.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Limited data exist on Luliconazole cream use in pregnant women. Caution is advised during breastfeeding due to unknown excretion into human milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Discontinue Lulitop cream if unusual allergic reactions occur. It is for topical use only and should not be used orally, intravaginally, or in the eyes.
