Pharmacology

Crafted with a blend of Dextran and Hypromellose, Lubtear eye drops mimic natural tears, delivering soothing relief to dry, itchy, burning, and irritated eyes. Hypromellose facilitates corneal wetting by enhancing the stability and thickness of the precorneal tear film, thus prolonging tear film breakup time typically shortened in dry eye conditions. Moreover, it acts as a lubricant and protective barrier for the eye. Dextran, a complex branched glucan, serves medicinally as an antithrombotic, reducing blood viscosity, and as a volume expander in hypovolemia.

Dosage & Administration

For adults and children alike, the recommended dosage entails instilling one to two drops into the affected eye(s) thrice daily or as prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Contraindications

Given its composition including Benzalkonium Chloride, Lubtear should not be used while wearing soft contact lenses.
