Pharmacology
Intimate contains Tadalafil, a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). By inhibiting PDE5, Tadalafil increases levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in smooth muscle cells. This leads to smooth muscle relaxation, enhancing blood flow to the corpus cavernosum for penile erection. It also relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder, improving urinary tract blood flow and bladder neck opening.
Dosage & Administration
For Erectile Dysfunction, the typical starting dose is 10 mg, adjustable to 20 mg or 5 mg as needed. Tadalafil remains effective for up to 36 hours, with a maximum frequency of once daily.
For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, a daily dose of 5 mg is recommended.
For combined Erectile Dysfunction and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, 5 mg should be taken daily.
Interaction
